Dominica
Volcanic Activity, Hotsprings and crazy Waterfalls on a laid back Island in the Carribean
Freshwater and Boeri Lakes and the Magnificent Trafalgar Falls
I wake up in Wotton Waven with a few more mosquito bites on my feet. Somehow, one or two always manage to sneak under the mosquito net, and my feet are already scratched. The morning is beautiful, though so I decided to go to the Boeri and Freshwater Lake.
Boiling Lake and Middleham Falls
I wake up very early because today is a day when I want to hike a lot. I gulp down some cereal and milk before leaving Le Petit Paradis, where I was staying. Even though it's still early in the morning, it doesn't take long before sweat starts dripping down my face.
Waterfall Triangle and the Famous Emerald Pools
That day, Viola and I wanted to visit a bunch of different waterfalls in the jungles of Dominica, and we started our little adventure hitchhiking and taking buses. First stop: Salton Falls. On our way there, we were already getting excited about the adventures of the day.
Wavine Cyrique Waterfall
Hitchhiking to the Wavine Cyrique waterfall was hard and far from Soufriere, but eventually, we made it. After asking a few locals finding the way was not too difficult, especially with Organic Maps.
Soufriere
Life is nothing but sweet mangos right now. I'm staying in Soufriere, the archetypical sleepy fishing village, where everybody knows everybody else. There's the sound of people playing dominoes coming up from a little shop in the street.
